The Ballerina Girl Turns 5!
So, the past month had a few special moments for our baby girl!!! A dance recital and the big 5! Our very shy little girl shocked us all and danced her heart out in her recital. I could have bet money she'd run off the stage, but the stubborn side of her out-won the shy side. Here are some pictures and video of her recital and 5th birthday! My baby girl is growing up :( sniff, sniff!!

Baseball days
This year Britton played 8 yo baseball for the Yankee's. It such a crazy season in our life, living between the ballpark, church and home. It adds a level of stress, but the joy in watching Britton play is worth every moment of it. Chesney and Cade love going to the ballpark. Cade stands at the fence and yells, "Go Britton, Go!! Go Yankee's Go!!
Chesney made a couple of new girl friends and they sit on the sidewalk and color and play school. Britton played left field this year. His first year to play in the outfield. He was bummed to not be playing in the infield this year, but he did awesome! Our first game, he caught 2 pop fly outs and got the game ball. Every game he caught one to three outfield pop fly's! One of our tournament games he caught 4! Keith was walking to the ballpark from the car one night. He overheard two boys talking. They said, " Hey, lets stop and watch this kid. He's the great left fielder boy that everyone is talking about."
Although Britton had a great season and played well, I was most proud of the comments that we received about how great Britton was as a kid. Each night after the game a coach, parent or team Mom would come tell us how great Britton's attitude is and what a great boy he is! The coach nick named him Smiley, for his good attitude. These comments made me the most proud!
Overall we won about half of our games and ended the season taking 2nd place in our tournament. Another great baseball season! So proud of you Britton,
oh I mean Smiley :D
The best yet!!
I haven't made bread in the past couple of weeks, due to failure! My last 2 loaves were like a brick. No one wanted to eat them :( So, I bought bread for a couple of weeks and then heard the Lord tell me to make my Step-mom and Mother-in-law bread for Mother's Day. I pleaded with Him, but he won. So, the kids and I prayed this morning that Nana and Gramaw's bread would turn out! We prayed hard :) God listened. Chesney and I set up and got to work on cinnamon bread. I've never made cinnamon bread before, but found that it wasn't much different from my bread recipe, so we gave it a try. Boy am I glad we did. We made 4 loaves today! The bread baked beautifully and my kids devoured our loaf in a nano second. I have to admit it was some kind of yummy. There is no better taste than freshly baked bread. I praise the Lord for sending me the inspiration to step out and try it. I praise him for sending some good friends to teach me the process. I praise him for the wonderful nutrition it's giving my children.
Here's the finished process and a few tools that make the slice look like store bought bread.
An electric knife
And a wooden bread box slice set! This makes a perfect cut!
Hmmmmm.........

White as snow
Today was what I call a doozy of a day, bad from the get go. By this I mean a lot of tears, spanks and timeouts. As a Momma, I don't really enjoy this part of motherhood. I know its character building and life training, but it's just hard as a parent, for me anyway...
So, after spending a lot of time praying and seeking the Lord for help. He answered through an 8yo little boy. As I came down the stairs, clearly shaken and upset, my son say's, "Mommy can you come here please?" I went into the living room and found Britton gazing out the window at the beautiful tree in our front yard. He says, "sit down Momma and tell me what that tree tells you about God." He goes on to say, " I see 3 things that, that tree tells me about God and I want to see if you see it too." So, I look at this beautiful tree that is blooming white flowers and green leaves. It is breathtaking to just sit and stare at it's beauty. So, I say, "I see it's beauty and that reminds me of God's beauty and His creation." Britton says, "Yes, Mommy, that's right, that's one of them. What else do you see?" So, I look at the tree again, and I say, "I see a lot of white." " Britton says, " Yes, Momma, like the white bead of purity. White as snow. Just like we are when we are saved! So, Momma what else do you see?" To which I reply, "Well, Britton, I see some new green leaves that are just beginning to grow." He says, " Well, Momma you are right. I had not thought of that one. That's a good one Momma. But, I still see one more.Look right there at that red bird. It reminds me of Jesus' blood that was shed for me." He then goes on to say, " I know you are having a rough day Momma, so I stopped and prayed for you. God showed me this tree and about Him in this tree and He told me I should tell you about it too." At this point I was crying happy tears and got a great big hug from my not so little boy! God's grace just used an 8yo little boy to show me HIS GLORY in a very powerful way. A moment I will treasure forever!
