We have just returned from your first trip to Disney World. You all enjoyed every second of the fun together. Although the past 2 weeks seem like we blinked and they were over, you guys were little sponges soaking up every moment. We left for Disney World on Wednesday Jan. 21st and returned home on Sunday night at midnight. We went with Papaw and Gramaw, Uncle Kelly and Aunt Cristy, Austin and Mackenzie. When we arrived at our hotel room Wed. night Chesney's reaction was not favorable. We had been talking all day about how we were going to Disney world to meet Mickey Mouse. We awoke that morning at 6am and traveled all day arriving to our room around 6pm. As we entered the room Chesney burst into tears crying that she did not want to stay at Disney World. She cried that she wanted to go home, that she did not like this room and she wanted her own bed. Mommy and Daddy just snickered. We knew the traveling was just too much for a 3 year old to handle, plus we realized that all we have talked about was how great this experience was going to be and this one room, double bed hotel room didn't seem like much fun. You soon found out what the experience was all about and enjoyed most every moment from then on. Some of my favorite moments were:

Riding Magic Mountain with Britton. Your first roller coaster ride. You loved it and every big, scary ride after that. Your favorite words after each ride were,
" That was SO AWESOME!!"

Going to watch The Lion King with Daddy,Chesney and Cade. This was our first show to watch. Chesney sat mesmerized. Cade danced, clapped, squealed, pointed and loved every minute of the show. The woman beside us said she got more joy out of experiencing the show with a happy one year old than she did the show itself.

Watching Chesney get so excited over meeting all of the characters. You only liked the big furry creatures, you would have nothing to do with the real princess ones. In fact you got Pocahontas' autograph but told her you didn't want to get your picture made with a "real girl". My other favorite moment was getting your face painted. They had all of these beautiful butterfly faces, cute character faces, flower faces, but no you insisted on the masculine tiger face. The painter even tried to convince you to let him make you a pink/purple tiger, but you wouldn't have it. You wanted to be a real tiger. It took him all of about 3 minutes to get your face painted. You sat perfectly still as he turned you into a tigress. As you walked out of the booth a random couple stopped and took a picture of you on their phone. They went on and on about what a wonderful tiger you were. You then walked around the park all day growling, hissing, prowling and pouncing like a tiger. You were right my sweet daughter, a butterfly wouldn't have fit your personality. A tiger fits you perfectly :)

Another favorite moment was eating at the 50's diner. The waiters treat you like you are at Momma's house. They instruct you on eating with good manners and behaving at the table. You must eat all of your veggies, no elbows on the table, no cell phone conversations etc... Our waiter was Cousin Cooper and he was a very strict enforcer to these rules. Daddy was in a not so great mood, and really didn't care for character Cousin Cooper getting on to him. Like Father, Like Son, Britton cried because he didn't like the mean Cousin Cooper yelling at us all to get our elbows off of the table. Our meal was AWESOME: Fried Chicken, greens, pot roast, coke floats and malt milkshakes. After all of the good food, everyone warmed up to Cousin cooper. He gave Gramaw a "No elbows" hat, because she just couldn't keep her elbows off of the table. Then he forced her to eat every last bite of her greens that she had hidden under her fried chicken. I wished we would have videoed that moment. It was quite funny watching him force her to eat her greens!!

Trading Pins. Austin and Mackenzie introduced us to the necklace/ pin phenomenon. Britton jumped in quickly. You have always been a collector, and so this Disney tradition fit your personality perfectly. We bought you one necklace and 2 pins to get started. You sweet cousins both used their own money to purchase you 2 more pins. Before it was all said and done you had 7 maybe 8 pins to go home with. You all ran up to each Disney cast member to check out their pins and make a trade if they had one you really wanted. Each of you got so excited over each trade, it was fun to watch you all trading pins and trading pins, and trading pins some more.

When I asked you guys what your favorite thing we did at Disney world was, your responses were:

Britton: The Rocking Roller Coaster and the Mount Everest (I may have the name of this ride wrong) roller coaster. (all of the roller coasters just kind of run together after you've done them over and over again, not to you though, Britton. You could have done them over and over again for days!)

Chesney replied that she liked "the Jungle" the best. Which was the Animal Kingdom. It was like walking through the jungle.

I believe all three of you liked the 4D Bugs life move the least. You all got scared. Mommy and Daddy forgot to prep you for the things that might fly out toward you and the water and air that might squirt at you. Britton jumped into Papaw's lap, Chesney threw off her glasses and hid her face. Even though it was a cartoon none of you liked those flying things coming toward your face. I just can't quite get how you all love roller coasters, but can't stand a pretend movie.... This Best bunch is a little backwards!!!

Over all it was a great and memorable trip. One we will always cherish!! Thanks Gramaw and Papaw for a wonderful Christmas present!

ATTACK OF THE CADE MAN!!!

Cade, you have just gotten some confidence in your walking skills in the past week. You have been walking a few steps here and few there, but now you've gotten bold and will walk accross a room. Tonight you began walking toward your siblings with a sword in hand. Daddy filmed this cute moment and of course I had to share it here:

Sweet Prayers

Every day we try to pray together as a family, during morning bible time and night time family worship. Chesney, in the past couple of weeks, you have really begun praying. As a parent, these are the moments that make your heart turn to mush. I had to try to capture these new prayers on film, so I can look at it again and again. I know that filming prayer takes away some of the intimacy of it, but I couldn't resist trying to blog your sweetness! I want you to be able to look back one day and hear some of your first prayers to Jesus!

Muscians or Actors?

You know the Best family is not know for its musical talents. Neither Mommy or Daddy can sing or play any instruments. However you guys can really rock out on some good Christian music. Britton received the game praise guitar for Christmas and he and Chesney are moving up the charts fast on their rocking abilities, not so sure about their musical talents yet. We'll pray you are the ones that break through the musical barriers in the Best/McChesney families!! Here is some proof of your new found skills!!

Something precious about good friends

My sweet kids. In life you come across a good buddy or friend that's just easier to play with than others. Although Mommy and Daddy encourage you to meet all kind of new friends and play with many new people, there is just something so sweet about seeing you play with that one person that you adore.
Britton you met Alex when you were 5 months old. He was our neighbor in our first home on Weems rd. Chesney, you and Claire were born 2 weeks a part. You two just started playing together at each church meeting and your friendship blossomed. Here are some pictures of you and your special friends.

Happy Birthday Alex and Camryn!

This week we went out to celebrate Alex and Camryn's birthday at Joes crabshack. Alex and Camryn were made to dress up and dance around the restraunt for their birthday. Mommy couldn't resist blogging this moment so we can always go back to look at it ;)

Im having technical difficulty getting this video blogged. keeping looking for it, Im determined to get this video on here one way or another....

This is what Daddy's are made for!

Children, this is your Daddy. The one who comes home from work with a big smile on his face to see you. The one who changes your dirtiest diapers, and lies in bed reading story after story, way past your bed time!! The one who prays with you when you are scared and teaches you how to be a hot chocolate salesman. But the thing he does best is roll around on the floor with you, screaming, playing and wrestling with you. Ya'll, get out all of that bottled up energy in 15 minutes of pure fun. No toys, No games, No TV, nothing but Daddy, the super duper fungiver!! You then ask Mommy to join, in which I reply, "No, this is a Daddy time, not a Mommy time." Here is some video of you guys having fun with Daddy:

See Mommy there are 2 God's!

For the past week we've been having some serious conversations with Chesney about the Lord. They've gone something like this: "Mommy there is a bad Jesus and he comes in my room at night." No Chesney there is no such thing as a bad Jesus, there is only one Jesus and he loves us very much." "No Mommy there is a bad Jesus and a good Jesus!" Keith then read psalm 121 to her which says:

Psalm 121
A song of ascents.
1 I lift up my eyes to the hills—
where does my help come from?

2 My help comes from the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth.

3 He will not let your foot slip—
he who watches over you will not slumber;

4 indeed, he who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.

5 The LORD watches over you—
the LORD is your shade at your right hand;

6 the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.

7 The LORD will keep you from all harm—
he will watch over your life
;

8 the LORD will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.

This seemed to help her through the nights for a couple of nights. Then as we were leaving church yesterday she say's, " See Mommy there are two Gods, Jesus and God, I told you there were two God's!" This was a moment of laughter for me. How do you explain there is one God that is three persons to a 3 year old? I'm open for suggestions anyone???
