Lulu's Home !

So Lulu finally came home in mid- June. Chesney couldn't be happier!
We are the proud owners of a rabbit!! We are calling her Lulu for now and hoping that it's a girl!! We will not know the gender of the rabbit for a few more months :D

Time to build a hutch

I wasn't sure how this whole bunny venture would turn out, but I've gotta say it's been way better than I ever imagined it could be!! I love seeing my girl so smitten over Lulu. I love giving gifts that are received with such enthusiasm and love!! So. Stinking. Beautiful!  Makes me think of my heavenly Father and how many incredible gifts He's given me, and how much joy He receives in doing so!!

Her baby!!
This picture totally cracks me up!

Lulu just chilling! She completely stays this way
for as long as you'll hold her!
Chesney's in bunny heaven :D

"Bonding" with the Japanese

So, my kids are doing some bonding these days, thanks to The Japanese!! Beyblades, a Japanese animation, and toy have entered my home and taken over. I have to say I really don't care for Japanese animation or their toys. However, I've had a change of heart, at least for this one toy.

All 3 kids, LOVE IT. They play TOGETHER for HOURS with this silly spinning top game!
Any toy, in my opinion, that creates sibling harmony, deserves an award. So Im giving this toy the high honor of being officially named: The Best toy ever brought into the Best house.
Weird freaky toy + sibling harmony = blissful Mommy :)

Lets play ball!!

I (keith) played football and wanted to play, my Father tells me, since I was six. Not to brag but I was really good. I played until my senior year in high school and loved to play. I was not built for college, too small, so I really felt I waisted some time with this game and did not spend enough time playing baseball which I loved also but not as much as football and would have been more suited to play beyond high school. So when my first born began to love baseball I tried to steer him in that direction and keep him away from football as much as I could. Alas growing up in the south he begged to play and all his friends were going to so we chose flag football. And wouldn't you know it, he is really good also. He may even be better than me. He ran nearly all our touchdowns and even caught a few. But his ability to run with the ball is truly athletic. It is something you are born with and coming from someone who can do it, I am able to see the talent. He can feel where to run and how to cut without me telling him how to do it. We would get in a bind and Coach Eric would say "just run Britton" we would and he would score. He of course loves it and the natural ability makes him love it even more. I am so proud of him, but I am more proud of the way he plays the game. He is respectful and obedient, something that was missing in many of the teams we players and coaches we played against this year. In one game we needed a score and we called Britton to the left. (Really a complicated offensive system) He ran and got stopped and was upset and one of the other kids on the other team called him a loser and he was crying. As I fixed his flag I told him to not worry about that kid and what he said and focus on the game because we are going to need him in a minute. He dried up is tears and did what I said and kept playing. Two plays later Britton made a tremendous catch for a touchdown that helped win the game for us. He talked about how I told him what to do and how he did it and in the end it helped him overcome the adversity of the moment. That is a lesson that not all sports can teach a young man. He then began to really love all football. He watches college and pro. He knows teams and players names and collects football cards and memorizes them. ( I never loved it as much as he does) So we took him to his first Alabama football game. UA vs Chattanooga. We walked around got him a stick on UA tatoo and a cool alabama hat. We ate pizza and coke in the stadium and UA of course won. Afterwards we went to the quad and guess what Britton did. He rounded up a bunch of boys and got a football pick up game going. We left and stopped at the Original Dreamland and ate ribs. It was a great day. So it looks like he is a full fledged football addict. Looks like we have many years of football to go. I look forward I think most to be able to pass on the knowledge of the game to him but also to have opportunities to pass on more of those life lessons as we enjoy this game together.

I will always be proud of you son.

Love Dad

The First Pocket Knife

I know,I can't even believe Im posting this. My baby has his first pocket knife. Britton came home from Papaw's house beaming from ear to ear with a new present. He opened up this beautiful box to reveal a new shiny pocket knife. My heart did a little flop in my chest. Excited, scared, fearful, but proud too. Keith, Britton and I went through all the important safety issues of owning your own knife, and the only times it was to be used. Britton was so proud of his new present. He had that look on his face like Ralphie opening up his Red Rider Bee Bee gun on The Christmas Story. Priceless! The best part of this neat gift from Papaw is that it has a train on the handle. Papaw has worked for the railroad most of his lifetime. A train, a perfect reminder of who gave it to Britton.Keith or I couldn't have picked a better "1st knife" for our son. Thanks Dad! You are now known as the super cool Papaw :) We love you.

My Boys!

On this day, Britton, you woke up and decided you wanted to start getting your little brother up and ready for his day. When you heard him crying out to get up, you ran up to his room changed his diaper and got him dressed. This is a picture of how you little guys came down for breakfast and school. Cade was so proud to be dressed like his big brother and even prouder that his big brother was the one that dressed him and took care of him for the day. Britton Im so proud of you. You truly are a gift to us all especially to your little brother and sister.
Two boys in overalls! Can it get any more precious than that?

Wow, the first family blog entry

Here we go Best Family. I have created this spot for Mommy to journal our most precious, funny, intimate and sweet moments. We will always have this spot to remember those days that make us the Best family!!
So, here we go. This is who we are today.

Daddy is 35 years old. He is making a huge job transition this week. He is going from a full time ministry job as a chaplain to a Best Ins. agent with his Dad, Raymond. He is also the Assosiate Pastor at our church The Downtown Church. He does this job full time, unpaid.
He is an incredible Daddy, leader and Husband!

Mommy is 34 years old. That is 1 year younger than your Daddy ;)
I am a former nurse, now a full time Mommy, Wife and Teacher.
I spend my days with you my beautiful children. Teaching, Hugging, laughing, cleaning, playing, schooling and training to love the Lord with all of your heart, mind and soul.

Britton, you are 7 years old. You love to play baseball. Currently you are playing fall ball for the Trussville ball park. This is your 4th year of baseball and your first year to hit from a pitching machine. You are doing great!! You asked Jesus into your heart this year and were baptised by you Dad on Father's day. Your baby brother, Cade, was dedicated on that same day. It was a very special day in the Best house!! You truly love the Lord and it shows!! You frequently make signs that say, " God loves you", and then pass them out to our new neighbors. You have wild strawberry blond hair, alot of freckles and you are currently missing your front 2 teeth.
Your Mommy and Daddy could not be more proud of you!!! What a blessing you are to us!

Chesney, you are 3 years old. You have grown up so much this year. You currently love to play with baby dolls, you love to cook in your kitchen and throw pretend birthday parties. You also love to write lots of letters. Everyday, you walk around the house with some sort of back pack, purse, or metal box with a handle filled with your special "papers and writing's", and a pen.
You are beginning to ask alot of questions about Jesus. You always ask me, " Is Jesus right here, right now in this room with me?" You say this with many hand gestures and a cute facial expression. Just today, you asked me if Cade was coveting his horse as he was disobeying his Mommy by touching the dishwasher. The conversation went something like this: "Mommy, is Cade coveting God's horse right now! cause he's touching that dishwasher." You asked me this because we have been talking about the 10 comandment in the bible. One of which is "Thou shalt not covet your neighbors donkey". You make us laugh all of the time. You are so precious to us. We are so thankful God made you just the way you are. You bring us much, much JOY!! We love you my sweet daughter.

Cade, you will be 10 monthes old in 2 days. You are the most laid back fun baby we have had yet. It takes alot to get you upset. You eat great, sleep great, play great. What can I say you are the greatest baby ever. You add so much fun to this family. Your big brother and sister love you so much. You love them too! Right now you really love your "ball". You pick it up and throw it on command. You will play with the ball for hours on end.. Today you woke up telling me, "Hey Mama". Today you ate black beans, pita bread, peas, carrots and corn. You eat whatever I put in front of you. You love to eat! You are crawling and cruising around the house. You keep thinking about trying to walk, but then you bend back down and crawl. You look like a little crab as you crawl with one foot flat on the ground and one knee on the ground. You also love to play in toilets and the cat food. Those are the things you get in trouble for the most right now.
Your smile and big blue eyes light up the room. You look very much like Britton did when he was a baby. It's amazing.
We prayed that the Lord would give us a child if it were His will for us to have another, and he gave us you!!!! You are a perfect addition to this family. We praise the Lord for you!

Sorry so long guys. Had to start us out with a bang. My prayer is for us to upload pictures and daily events that we want to treasure and never forget. I love you all MY family. I praise the Lord for you all!!!
